A new study has shown that businesses are leaving California at an increasing rate, with an average of 75 businesses per week relocating out of the state in 2021. The findings echo those of a previous study by the Hoover Institution, which stated that 352 businesses, including 11 Fortune 1,000 companies, moved their headquarters out of California between 2018 and 2021. Reasons cited for the departures include high taxes, strict regulations, soaring property costs and a difficult business environment.
