LinkedIn makes money through ad sales and charging for subscriptions to recruiting and sales professionals. In a letter to employees, CEO Ryan Roslansky said the move was aimed at streamlining the company’s operations and creating 250 new jobs for those affected by the cuts. The remaining China app, InCareer, will be phased out by Aug. 9.
